For the 2026 season, the gentle heat of our traditional lakeside sauna is also available to book for private sessions.
How to Get to Resortti Maisa
Resortti Maisa is easy to reach in historic Maisansalo, Tampere, whether you arrive by boat, public transport, bicycle or car. During the summer, those arriving via Lake Näsijärvi can moor their boats at our guest marina, while drivers can enjoy complimentary parking in the Maisa courtyard. Lake cruises operating from Tampere’s Mustalahti harbour offer a unique way to experience Lake Näsijärvi and arrive via the historic waterways that have connected the area for centuries. The local Nysse bus route number 90 also stops right outside.

By Bus: Nysse line 90 runs directly to the resort; alight at the Maisansalo 5362 stop. Route: Terälahti - Maisansalo - Kämmenniemi - Sorila - Tampere Bus Station.
By Bicycle: Maisa is a perfect destination for a cycling excursion. The popular cycling routes looping around Lake Näsijärvi pass right by the estate.

Maisansalo – Centuries of History and New Experiences
The Maisansalo area holds a significant place in local heritage. For decades, it has been a cherished destination for Tampere residents and summer holidaymakers in Teisko. Boasting a well-known harbour for boaters, an inviting swimming beach, and nearby nature trails, it invites visitors to spend quality, relaxed time throughout the summer.
However, the story of Maisansalo began centuries before it became a holiday hub. The Polso farm, which once stood on these grounds, appears in historical records as early as the 16th century, a time when the waterways of Lake Näsijärvi were the region's vital transport routes. The very same landscapes that have overseen a working farm, generations of fishermen, a municipal care home, and a campsite are now turning the page to a brand-new chapter.

Welcome to experience an authentic Finnish lakeside sauna in the tranquil surroundings of Lake Näsijärvi, just a 35-minute drive from Tampere city centre. Resortti Maisa’s sauna is a traditional lakeside sauna built in 1976. It beautifully combines a classic Finnish sauna experience with the peace of nature and the unique atmosphere of the lake landscape. The sauna is rented exclusively for private use, ensuring you can enjoy the steam (löyly) in complete privacy.

How will Resortti Maisa develop in the future?
Maisa is being developed in careful phases, with a deep respect for its heritage. Future plans include the complete restoration of the brick cowshed into an event venue, the expansion of on-site accommodation services, and the introduction of new amenities and events across the resort.
Maisansalo is where a rich history, the vistas of Lake Näsijärvi, heritage architecture, nature, and community spirit converge. There are very few places where, in a single visit, you can immerse yourself in over 400 years of history, enjoy panoramic lake views, and watch a brand-new resort story come together piece by piece.
