Resortti Maisa is a tourism, restaurant, and event complex being developed in phases within Maisansalo. The resort features Restaurantti Maisa, a guest marina, a lakeside sauna, and dedicated event spaces.
What is Restaurantti Maisa?
Restaurantti Maisa is a summer restaurant and bistro located by the shores of Lake Näsijärvi in Maisansalo. Operating from a historic manor house, it is open every day of the week during the 2026 summer season. The restaurant serves meals, café treats, a cottage-style breakfast, and summer delicacies to both locals and holidaymakers.
When does Resortti Maisa open?
The summer restaurant, terrace, event area, and the Finnish lakeside saunas (available to book upon request) will open in the summer of 2026. Other services and operations will open in phases at a later date.
How far is Resortti Maisa from Tampere city centre?
Resortti Maisa is located in Terälahti, Teisko, which is approximately 35 kilometres and a 35-minute drive from the centre of Tampere. Maisa is ideal as a day-trip destination for both Tampere residents and tourists.
Can I arrive at Maisa by boat?
Yes. The estate features a guest marina serving boaters on Lake Näsijärvi. Coordinates: 61°41'33.5"N 23°49'22.4"E.
By motorboat, you can zip across to Maisa from Tampere city centre in about twenty minutes.
Is Maisa a good stopover for boaters?
Yes. The guest marina, restaurant services, terrace, swimming spots, and sauna facilities make Maisa an excellent stopover for anyone boating on Lake Näsijärvi.
Can we come to Maisa by boat just to eat?
Yes. It is very easy to step off your boat at the guest marina and walk straight up to Restaurantti Maisa for lunch, coffee, or to spend a summer day.
Is there parking at Resortti Maisa?
Yes. There is a free car park on-site at Maisa for customers using the restaurant and other services.
Can I get to Resortti Maisa by public transport?
Yes. The local Nysse bus service operates towards Teisko, and it is only a short walk from the stop to Maisa. In the summer of 2026, local bus route no. 90 runs directly from Tampere Bus Station to right next to Maisa. You can find up-to-date timetables via the Nysse service.
Can I cycle to Maisa?
Absolutely. The landscapes of Teisko are highly popular for cycling routes, and Maisa serves as an excellent pit stop for coffee, lunch, or an ice cream.
Can I arrive at Resortti Maisa on a cruise?
Yes. During the 2026 summer season, you can also arrive at Maisa on a cruise organized in cooperation with Laivaan.fi. A combined cruise and dine package is available for €79.

What are the opening hours for Restaurantti Maisa?

Do I need to book a table at the restaurant?
During the 2026 summer season, the restaurant operates on a walk-in basis with no table reservations required for groups of fewer than 10 people. For groups of more than 10, we kindly request advanced notice.

Restaurantti Maisa is a relaxed summer bistro on the shores of Lake Näsijärvi. The menu includes salmon soup, smørrebrød (open sandwiches), traditional mustamakkara (black pudding), Parmesan potatoes, café selection, and desserts for the whole family.

Yes. Restaurantti Maisa functions as both a bistro and a café. We offer meals, café bakes, desserts, ice cream, as well as hot and cold drinks. You are more than welcome to visit just to sit on the terrace, have a coffee, or grab a soft-serve ice cream without ordering a full meal.
Is there an outdoor terrace at Maisa?
Yes. The scenic terrace adjoins the Manor House, offering beautiful views over Lake Näsijärvi. It is a wonderful spot for a coffee break, a meal, or spending a summer evening.

When is Maisa’s cottage breakfast served?
Maisan mökkiaamiainen on tarjolla lauantaisin ja sunnuntaisin klo 10–13 elokuun loppuun asti. Tarjoilu on säävarauksella.
What does Maisa’s cottage breakfast include?
The breakfast selection includes freshly baked homemade rolls, cardamom-spiced oatmeal porridge, fresh kitchen-garden vegetables, berry juice, traditional Polso pancakes, fruit compote/jellied berries, and coffee.
Do I need to book a spot for breakfast in advance?
During the 2026 summer season, the restaurant does not take table reservations for groups under 10 people. Exceptions may apply during special events. We recommend checking the latest guidelines on our website and social media channels. Larger groups are advised to get in touch beforehand.
Does Maisa provide catering services?
Yes. Catering services are provided by Bufferi Oy, who can also cater for events outside of the Maisa estate.
What is there to do at Maisa? What services are available at Resortti Maisa?
Resortti Maisa offers a wide range of services and activities on the shores of Lake Näsijärvi in Tampere, including Restaurantti Maisa, café services, a scenic terrace, a guest marina, a swimming jetty, toilet and shower facilities, and a traditional Finnish lakeside sauna available by reservation. If you don't have your own cottage or garden, Maisa is the perfect place to enjoy classic Finnish outdoor games such as Mölkky, darts, croquet and pétanque. A nearby disc golf course also makes Resortti Maisa a great destination for an active summer day. During summer 2026, the new Manor Gallery (Kartanon Kalleria) will host small art exhibitions, pop-up events and other cultural experiences.
Are there toilets at Maisa?
Yes. There are toilet facilities available for customers within the Resortti Maisa area.
Can I visit Maisansalo without going to the restaurant?
Yes. You are welcome to come to Maisansalo for a stroll, explore the historic courtyard, admire the views of Lake Näsijärvi, or arrive by boat at the guest marina.
Is there a sauna at Maisa?
Yes. The lakeside saunas are heated upon request. Please enquire and read more here.
Our ultimate goal is for Resortti Maisa to offer year-round sauna experiences, including ice swimming during the winter in Maisansalo. The resort's sauna services are being developed in stages.
Is there anything for children to do at Maisa?
Yes. The area offers outdoor garden games, swimming, and plenty of safe open space to enjoy a summer's day. The restaurant also offers ice cream and dedicated children's meals.
Are there nature trails near Resortti Maisa?
Yes. From Maisa, you can easily access nature trails and forest paths in the surrounding area. Nature practically starts right at the edge of the courtyard.
Is there a campfire place near Maisa?
Yes. There is a campfire site located near the area, which serves as a pleasant pit stop for hikers.
What hiking destinations are located near Maisa?
The surrounding area features popular destinations such as the Kintulampi hiking area, the Pukala recreation forest, and the Siikaneva wetland/mire reserve. All of these are highly regarded day-trip locations in Pirkanmaa.
Are there mountain biking trails near Maisa?
Yes. The areas around Teisko and Lake Näsijärvi offer plenty of routes suitable for mountain biking, and Maisa serves as an excellent rest and dining stop for cyclists.
Can I stay overnight at Maisa?
At present, Resortti Maisa does not offer hotel or lodging operations. In the future, accommodation spaces are planned for the estate’s buildings, such as the upper floor of the Manor House. The Maisansalo Camping site operates nearby.
What is the difference between Resortti Maisa and Maisansalo Camping?
Resortti Maisa and Maisansalo Camping are separate operators located within the same Maisansalo area. The Camping site provides accommodation (pitches/lodging), whereas Resortti Maisa focuses on restaurant, sauna, event, and experience services.
Am I allowed to swim at Maisa?
Yes. Customers can use our treated wooden swimming jetties to enjoy the waters of Lake Näsijärvi.
Is Resortti Maisa suitable for a day trip? Can I spend the whole day there?
Yes. Maisa combines lakeside scenery, history, restaurant services, a sauna, swimming, and nearby nature sites under one roof. Therefore, it is just as suited for a quick visit as it is for a full-day excursion.
How large a group can dine at Restaurantti Maisa?
We have space to accommodate well over a hundred people. Groups of more than 10 are requested to notify us of their arrival in advance so our staff can prepare for your visit.
Does Resortti Maisa host public events?
Yes. Maisa’s goal is to host an increasing number of concerts, parties, wellness events, markets, and other community gatherings in the future. We announce all upcoming events on our social media channels and here on our website.
